By aligning teeth correctly with Clear Aligners, these types of speech impediments can often be remedied.

Ceramic Braces / Clear Braces

Ceramic Braces are often referred to as Clear Braces, Tooth-Colored Braces, or Aesthetic Braces. While they function like traditional braces, ceramic braces are made of a ceramic material and are designed to be less noticeable on your teeth than metal braces. When paired with clear, white, or tooth-colored wires, ceramic braces are a way to straighten your teeth in a less noticeable fashion than traditional braces.

Clear Aligners / Invisalign

In recent years, we’ve seen the emergence of Invisalign and other forms of Clear Aligners. These removable trays are customized and crafted for each individual and are an excellent way to achieve a straighter smile. Since Clear Aligners can be taken out, they make eating, brushing and flossing teeth, and cleaning the aligners much easier. They’re also called invisible aligners because they are entirely transparent and nearly unnoticeable when being worn.

Teens

While starting braces earlier is always a better option, many times it isn’t until a child reaches the teenage years that the need for braces becomes obvious. The good news is that the braces of today and the options available are vastly superior than those of years past. Today’s teens can choose from ceramic / clear braces or clear aligners to make them much less noticeable, easier to maintain, and also (in the case of Invisalign Aligners) provide the flexibility of being removable. The braces of today can even be a fun experience for you and your teen as you watch their smile and confidence improve with each passing day.

Adult Braces

The best time to get braces is as soon as you’re able to, and for many of us, that isn’t until we’re adults. The great news is that it’s never too late to enjoy the many benefits that come with straighter and properly aligned teeth. Adults today have many options when it comes to braces and clear aligners, and Dr. Singh and the MidTN team will work with you to choose the perfect options to make sure that your orthodontic journey is an experience that truly does make you smile. 

Overbites and Underbites

Overbites and Underbites, known as malocclusions, are another common problem that can typically be solved with braces. Dr. Singh can talk you through the process and explain all of the available options. Many patients are surprised to learn how easy and affordable it is to fix their overbite or underbite with braces.

Jaw Misalignment

When teeth do not align correctly, the misaligned or crooked teeth can also cause a misalignment of the jaw. When the jaw doesn’t align correctly while biting or chewing, it can eventually lead to pain or discomfort in the jaw. In some cases, it can cause issues with your temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) - leading to more pain and additional complications. Braces are often the most effective way to fix this kind of jaw misalignment. By correcting the crooked teeth, the jaw can again align correctly, and the pain and discomfort is eliminated.

Chewing and Speech Problems

We use our teeth every time we chew food or speak (although hopefully not at the same time). When teeth are crooked and misaligned, it frequently causes difficulties in chewing which can lead to pain or uneven wear on the teeth. It can also cause lisps when speaking or other speech related issues. Both of these issues are able to be with the use of braces.

While this is a complex issue, we can safely say that many people suffer from some degree of self-esteem challenges because of crooked or misaligned teeth. Dr. Singh went to NYU for his undergrad before getting his specialization at Columbia University. He recently escaped the cold northern winters after serving his patients for more than 10 years in the middle Ohio region. His education, experience and enthusiasm are what you will notice most. Do you take insurance?

We work with most insurance providers and many of our patients do have dental insurance that covers some orthodontic services. However, we will need to work with your provider  to determine how much of your treatment will be covered. We will do this work as part of your consultation process so that you understand exactly what your treatment costs will be.
